Château du Tailhas - POMEROL

POMEROL (Great Bordeaux wine)

CHÂTEAU DU TAILHAS (municipality of Pomerol)

Grape varieties : Merlot (80%) Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (10%)

Old vines over 40 years old - Maturing: about 1 year in French oak barrels

Vintage : 2013 (13% vol.)

A great vintage 2013 ready to drink !!

It was in 1289 that the King defined the separations between the appellations POMEROL and SAINT-ÉMILION at the level of the river "Tailhayat" from which the name of this cuvée de pomerol comes. Even today, it is this stream that separates the 2 prestigious Bordeaux appellations.

The vineyard of this Château is made up of a single large plot of 11 ha vines south of the Pomerol plateau.

This wine is uncompromising with very strong fruity aromas, mainly on the blackberry. It is better to wait a few years before tasting it to fully appreciate its finesse and complexity, that is why we have chosen for you this vintage which is already ready for tasting. However, it can still be kept in the cellar for a good decade.

What meal with a pomerol?

This is a question that is difficult to answer because Pomerol red wine goes perfectly with many dishes. A "classic" food and wine pairing with Pomerol will be an association with a beef fillet with chanterelles or a capon stuffed with Bordeaux ceps. In a more original way, you can surprise your guests at cheese time with a Saint-Marcelin / Saint-Félicien duo.

Rien à redire, ce Pomerol fait méchament le boulot.
Tous les amis avec qui j'ai ouvert ce Château du Tailhas ont adoré ce Pomerol.
Une valeur sûre en Bordeaux rouge.
