Sauternes

The Sauternes is one of the national pride of our French vineyards.

3 reasons to the exceptional quality of the Sauternes: The basement, the blending of grape varieties and the very special harvests :

 - The underground first is a mixture of silica which ensures the finesse, limestone which gives character to the wine and clay that adds unctuosity.

 - The Sémillon blend that brings unctuousness, Sauvignon that brings the particular aromatic character of the Sauternes and a little Muscadelle that brings delicacy to the whole.

 - The Sauternes harvest is also very special, grain by grain over 6 to 8 weeks. The last grains leave a fungus (noble rot) in autumn, makes them very rich in sugar.

This traditional method is mandatory because the addition of sugar is totally forbidden to obtain this prestigious appellation of this sweet wine!
