Nugget! Condrieu LA CAILLE - Domaine PICHAT View larger

Condrieu "La Caille " - PICHAT estate

CONDRIEU "La Caille" (great white wine from the north of the Rhone Valley)

Domaine Stéphane PICHAT

Vintage : 2020

Alcohol : 13,5 % / Vol

Grape variety : 100% Viognier

The domain Stéphane PICHAT is spread over 5 hectares of vines located in the appellation areas of Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu.

Stéphane offers 6 wines from his entire range, including 3 Côtes-Rôties, 1 Condrieu, 1 IGP Viognier and 1 IGP Syrah.

We are here in the presence of his Condrieu "La Caille" from the place called "La Caille" which is located on the heights of the town of Condrieu.

The vines are planted facing south and the wine is aged between 10 and 12 months in barrels.

Surprising and original, this Condrieu quickly conquered us with a nose that breathes very frankly the fruit and in particular the apricot. We are even invaded by this bouquet and we feel like we are above a basket full of ripe apricots.

After this fresh and fruity sensation, the aftertaste is really very surprising with fruit aromas that we find again but also very original roasted coffee aromas that persist on the length. At first a little shocking, a second gustatory examination is necessary and there one is subjugated by this length and this originality.

We clearly love this white wine, but from our point of view it is still preferable for you to take only 1 bottle in your basket the first time, just to check that you also love this originality.

As for all his wines, Stéphane calls upon an artist to create the label. The apricots are not there by chance!

Parfait avec des Saint Jacques juste poilées

Très bonne longueur en bouche avec un final sur des notes de café surprenantes.
