MAGNUM CONDRIEU « Grandes Chaillées » from MONTEZ estate

CONDRIEU (Great white wine from the Rhone Valley)

Grape varieties : VIOGNIER

Vintage : choose your vintage below price (13.5% vol.)

This Condrieu by Stéphane MONTEZ is a blend of 8 small plots located in the communes of Chavanay, Vérin, Condrieu and Saint-Michel du Rhône. The subsoil is predominantly granitic, which enhances the strength and colour of the wine. The AOC Condrieu has become a world reference in white wine in recent years, and promotes the wines of the northern Rhône valley, particularly in Asia and the United States.

The nose of this white wine is very expressive, with honey and toasted bread.

In the mouth, the viognier expresses itself through notes of apricot and a 10-month ageing in oak barrels gives it a long and vanilla finish. The wine is elegant, more lively than fruity.

Food and wine pairing with Condrieu "Les Grandes Chaillées"

It is not the Condrieu best suited for an aperitif, but it is very pleasant to eat. It is particularly suitable for tasting festive dishes such as smoked salmon, grilled lobster or foie gras. In a more classic way, it is also very nice with fish.
